Breaking: Jeffrey Epstein’s Official Autopsy Reveals Cause of Death

New York City’s chief medical examiner has ruled that disgraced financier and accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein committed suicide by hanging in his prison cell last week.

In a brief statement Friday, Dr. Barbara Sampson said her ruling came following a “careful review of all investigative information, including complete autopsy findings.”

Epstein was found unresponsive in his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan early Saturday and was pronounced dead hours later.

Meanwhile, Epstein’s former cellmate was cleared of wrongdoing in an incident that left the disgraced financier semicoscious in his cell before his death and prompted him to be placed on suicide watch.

A lawyer told NBC News on Friday that Nicholas Tartaglione, a former upstate New York officer accused of killing four people, was cleared.

On July 23, three weeks before Epstein was found dead on Aug. 10, the 66-year-old apparently attempted to kill himself in his cell at the Manhattan’s Metropolitan Correctional Center.

According to the NBC report, the July incident was being investigated as an assault, suicide attempt, or an attempt at a ruse.

Jail officials told Tartaglione’s attorney, Bruce Barket, that he was cleared one day before Epstein died.

“We’ve always maintained Nick did nothing wrong and that’s clearly been borne out here by the jail itself,” Barket said.

Later, Epstein was mysteriously taken off suicide watch.

The FBI and the Justice Department’s Office of Inspector General are now investigating the matter.

Meanwhile, an autopsy that was performed on Epstein found that he had “sustained multiple breaks in his neck bones,” reported the Washington Post on Aug. 14.

The Post reported that he had a broken hyoid bone near his Adam’s apple.

Jonathan L. Arden, president of the National Association of Medical Examiners, told the newspaper that the hyoid bone can be broken in a number of ways. However, he said that it is more associated with homicidal strangulation than suicidal hanging.

A broken hyoid, he added, requires pathologists to carry out a more thorough investigation.

“If, hypothetically, the hyoid bone is broken, that would generally raise questions about strangulation, but it is not definitive and does not exclude suicidal hanging,” Arden said.

The hedge fund manager was jailed since July and was waiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. Epstein had pleaded not guilty to the charges but was denied bail.

Attorney General William Barr has said the criminal investigation into any possible co-conspirators would continue.

Barr, whose agency oversees the Bureau of Prisons, has also demanded an investigation into Epstein’s death and ordered the removal of the prison’s warden.

Multiple news reports have said guards did not follow procedures to check on Epstein frequently and that he was left alone in his cell for as long as three hours.

Separately, a team at the jail on Wednesday began an “after-action” review, which is normally triggered by significant events such as a prominent inmate’s death, a person familiar with the matter said. That review is being headed by a prison bureau director from another region.

    Now, there’s a surprise…………..NOT.
We have Democrat mayor, friends of the Clinton’s (who probably donated large sum of $$$$$ to the Mayor’s election) that appointed a coroner, probably Dem. This prison is in a Dem controlled territory, NY, that is also a home to the Clinton’s home. LOL. Any thing else & I’d be shocked!!!!! So, miss coroner, why the broken neck from a suicide less than 6 feet???

  • Dolly Brunner says:

Of course she ruled that, she wants to live.

  • Juan says:

Way too much of a coincidence.. Two sleeping guards, an injury that really does not normally happen by hanging yourself, a witness who heard a fight of some kind….??? I don’t know..

  • pelicanjohn says:

The fix is in. Best to look for an offshore account with an new large balance. You know she isn’t stupid to put the pay off in her US bank

    • JonT says:

LMFAO, she didn’t want to wind up joining Epstein. Wonder how she would have died?? It’s sickening to think how much these creeps have gotten away with over the last 30 years.

  • Gerald Cline says:

“Suicide….” What a surprise. I’ll bet Epstein was surprised when he committed “suicide” too…ya-think…?!?!?

  • ROSE says:

  • 2WarAbnVet says:

So there’s one person who believes (or, says he believes) that Epstein committed suicide. The “coincidences that keep piling on each other make it only the remotest of possibilities.

  • MAGA says:

How can an autopsy determine if he died by suicide? They were not there and there were no known witness’s to him doing it HIMSELF. They can say he died by strangulation due to a rope or something else tied around his neck. But they cannot determine who put it there. This is bullshi-. I bet the cause was already determined before he even went to the coroner. That former prisoner said there was no where for him to tie off anything in that cell. Lets see some pictures of the cell he was in.

  • PatriotGirlNJ says:

Pssst. Hey, anybody wanna buy my bridge for sale?
They’re selling us a load of BS. I don’t believe the coroner, I don’t believe the lawyers, I don’t believe the prison officials, I don’t believe the guards, I don’t believe the FBI or trust in our institutions anymore. I DO believe Julian Assange, I DO believe Project Veritas and Judicial Watch and The Heritage Foundation. Other than that, I don’t believe any reports coming out about J Epstein’s murder, I mean suicide.

    • Duane says:

I’m on your side but I also still believe he is not dead. Who that knew him well enough to identify the body like his Madam did so? Why haven’t they done a DNA on him as they surely have enough DNA of him from his home, island, etc. to do a proper identification! There is a whole lot of smelly stuff lying around!

    • Gary Son says:

You are 100% right sir. This guy knew too much about the people that he was associated with, and they bumped him off, and I guarantee that there were many people paid off. Chances are, Slick Willy and the wicked witch of the East were involved. I have said before that the Justice Department Should keep a very close eye on the guard, the warden, and as you said, the coroner is most likely deeply involved in the whole thing.

  • chris says:

” Jail officials told Tartaglione’s attorney, Bruce Barket, that he was cleared one day before Epstein died. ” His cellmate, although suspected of ” harming ” Epstein the first time, was still his cellmate until shortly before Epstein’s death????

  • 2020! says:

I heard Dr Boaden was also there he’s respected so we will find out if he agrees

  • Bobby P says:

Looks like A few folks got paid off !

  • Radical Racing says:

The next to die will be the prison guards. Too much of a loose end to believe the threats to the grand parent, parents, wife and children will prevent the truth from coming. I expect to hear about the guards dying from car crashes, heart attacks, suicides etc. in the near future.

  • DADDY K says:

How much did the ME get paid? $1 MIL, $2 MIL, more?

  • William Conley says:

So answer this for me Epstein was over 6 foot tall if recall correctly so he would have basically had to go limp at an angle to suffocate himself to death. He would of had to like go dead weight while throwing only his neck and head forward which is basically impossible to break the bones in his throat. That tends to happen when someone applied the force with a rope or cloth whatever in a forecful manner like tightening a noose around a neck then continuing to do so with great force. People don’t even always break their necks when they were hung and that was like a ten foot drop with your entire body weight entirely on your neck.

  • Randall says:

BS. Not buying it for one second.
Although I will admit, it turned out just as I expected, covered up and
swept under the rug just like everything else involving our criminal government.
Murder, extortion, bribery, treason, child sex trafficking, eh, nothing to see here folks.
    Oh look, a mass shooting.

  • Errol musk says:

How stupid do they think people are?
He broke his own bones with his own hands? And shrieked while he did it? Gimme a break.
The toughest man on earth would not be able to do that.
He was murdered by strangulation and now this ‘doctor’ is a co-conspirator.
If Barr accepts this he is also a co-conspirator.

  • mike says:

I’m sorry but moving a warden to another prison is not enough Mr.Barr. The guards being only suspended is not enough as well. Americans deserve better than this we are not as naïve as politicians think.

  • mrmagoo says:

i’d like to know the political party affiliation of the warden the guards, all who were supposed to be on duty, who turned off the cameras…and mo st of all what political affiliation is the coroner..if they are all dems, i don’t believe anything they say

  • Kathie says:

I feel sorry for Mr. Barr & have just prayed for him that he & his investigators will find the trail that leads back to the Clinton’s!
