Homeland Security Chief Drops Border Bombshell

Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen issued a grave assessment on Wednesday of the situation at the southern border, saying those seeking to enter the U.S. illegally has spiked dramatically and they are overwhelming the system.

“Illegal immigration is simply spiraling out of control and threatening public safety and national security,” Nielsen told the House Committee on Homeland Security.

She said the number of apprehensions has been rising recently, hitting 50,000 to 60,000 each month.

“In February, we saw a 30 percent jump over the previous month, with agents apprehending or encountering nearly 75,000 aliens,” she said.

“This is an 80 percent increase over the same time last year. And I can report today that (Customs and Border Patrol) is forecasting the problem will get even worse this spring as the weather warms up.”

Nielsen added that CBP is now on track to apprehend more migrants crossing the border in the first six months of fiscal year 2019 than in the entirety of FY 2017.

“These increases will overwhelm the system entirely,” the secretary said. “This is not a manufactured crisis. This is truly an emergency.”

President Donald Trump urged Senate Republicans on Wednesday not to override his national emergency declaration regarding border security.

“Senate Republicans are not voting on constitutionality or precedent, they are voting on desperately needed Border Security & the Wall,” he tweeted. “Our Country is being invaded with Drugs, Human Traffickers, & Criminals of all shapes and sizes. That’s what this vote is all about. STAY UNITED!”

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said on Monday he anticipates enough Republican senators will join with Democrats to pass a resolution seeking to block Trump’s emergency declaration, according to The Hill.

“I think what is clear in the Senate is that there will be enough votes to pass the resolution of disapproval, which will then be vetoed by the president and then in all likelihood the veto will be upheld in the House,” McConnell told reporters in Kentucky.

Sens. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine, Thom Tillis of North Carolina and Rand Paul of Kentucky have all said they will vote for a resolution of disapproval, clinching the 51 senators needed.

The resolution of disapproval passed the Democrat-controlled House last week.

Trump has the veto power, which would require a two-thirds vote in both chambers to override him.

In addition to the $1.375 billion Congress voted to authorize for barrier funding, the White House plans to redirect $3.6 billion from a military construction fund, $2.5 billion from a Department of Defense drug interdiction program and $600 million from the Treasury Department from a drug forfeiture fund.

The national emergency is specifically being used to tap the $3.6 billion from the military construction fund.

    Go President Trump!
The real reason illegals are trying to pour over the Border is because the Democrats and George Soros are paying them to. They are mostly communist military men coming from communist countries just as Bill Ayers Weather Underground communist Manifesto called for when it was written in 1969. They are the Army Ayers planned to bring into America to fight our Military and Ayers also said they’d have to kill up to 25 million American citizens so they could control the rest and now that we have more than doubled the number of citizens that we had in 1969 when he wrote the manifesto, you can bet they have upped the number to at least 50 million. Just what Communist always do when they take over a country. Kill the people you know you’ll never be able to control!

He needs to do what he needs to do. I would rather the money to be spent for the wall instead of all the Yahoo’s trying to stop what needs to be done. Keep fighting the deep state while building the wall. Either the wall will be done and the deep state will crumble. It’s in the hands of the Lord. He will prevail.

Agree. MOST Americans do not want illegal immigration. It is a slap in the face to those who come legally. It seems most politicians now, do not represent their constituents…..been in Washington too long. They do not know how most people feel! Beginning to feel they are all traitors.
Democrats just want more illegal votors.

Why are so many government officials opposed to stopping illegal immigration? Maybe there should be an investigation about how many of these people who are opposed to building the wall have personal and business interests in not curtailing the unauthorized personnel into the United States. There has to be a monetary reason for their opposition, because money rules everything in congress. If this continues, it will destroy this country. Taxpayers cannot support the influx, but the liberals don’t care, they will just continue to increase the national debt. Eventually they be unable to borrow more money….then what happens? Go figure.

The democrats are on contract with the Mexican Cartels to keep the borders open. They know they will be killed by the cartel if they cannot keep their bargain for the payment they receive. It has nothing to do with being for the illegals it is their lives and greed that motivates them. Plus they know they will never win another election no matter how much fraud unless they can get millions more illegals across that border.

I am really disgusted with Congress. The Democrats don’t care about America. Period. They want their power and nothing else matters. The Republicans–especially the RINO’s are disgusting. They act like liberals and hide behind the Constitution claiming Trumps orders are unconstitutional. They should be concerned about the criminals, and if they come here illegally they are all criminals. The Republicans, 12 of them at least, are cowards. They are the ones ducking behind the Constitution.

So you Republican dorks, cowards, whatever. Give Trump his money to build the wall and stop your stupid nonsense. We are being invaded. You are contributing to the injury and death of American citizens while you play verbal games. Back Trump, build the wall and stop screwing around with us. And America.

President Donald Trump is trying to protect all Americans against illegal immigrants. It is a serious security threat to all of us. According to Homeland Security Chief, 50,000-60,000 are attempting to enter THE USA on a MONTHLY BASIS. This must STOP AT ONCE.!
