Trump Shreds ‘Different’ Fox News: ‘There’s Something Going on at Fox’

On Sunday, President Donald Trump bemoaned the current state of affairs at Fox News, saying he’s “not happy with Fox.”

Trump met the media for a free-wheeling, 30-minute question-and-answer session Sunday in Morristown, New Jersey, before returning to Washington.

Among the questions was one about a Fox News poll released last week that showed him losing in head-to-head contests against any of four top Democratic presidential contenders: former Vice President Joe Biden and Sens. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, Kamala Harris of California and Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts. In the poll, Biden topped Trump 50 percent to 38 percent. Sanders had a 48 percent to 39 percent edge over Trump, while Warren was shown beating Trump 46 percent to 39 percent and Harris winning 45 percent to 39 percent, Fox News reported.

Trump’s Sunday questioner asked the president about the poll that “showed you underwater.”

“Fox is a lot different than it used to be, I can tell you that. Juan Williams. Then they have the wonderful woman that gave Hillary Clinton the questions,” Trump said referring to Donna Brazile, who as a CNN contributor was accused of aiding the Clinton campaign during the 2016 Democratic presidential primary by giving Clinton a preview of questions that would be asked at a debate. “That was a terrible thing. And all of a sudden, she’s working for Fox. What’s she doing working for Fox?”

“Fox has changed. And my worst polls have always been from Fox. There’s something going on at Fox, I’ll tell you right now. And I’m not happy with it,” Trump said, according to a White House media pool report.

The Western Journal has reached out to Fox News for comment but has not yet received a response.

Trump was asked why Fox had changed.

“I don’t know what’s happening with Fox, but when they have, like, a Juan Williams, who has never said a positive thing, and yet, when I show up at the Fox building, he’s out there, ‘Oh, sir, can I have a picture with you? Could I have a picture?’ And he was 100 percent nice,” Trump said.

Trump demurred when asked if the executives running Fox News should make changes.

“They have to run it the way they want to run it,” he said, before changing direction.

“But Fox is different. There’s no question about it. And I think they’re making a big mistake, because Fox was treated very badly by the Democrats — very, very badly — having to do with the debates and other things. And I think Fox is making a big mistake. Because, you know, I’m the one that calls the shots on that — on the really big debates. I guess we’re probably planning on three of them,” he said.

Trump said some individuals at Fox have been good.

“I’m certainly happy — I think Sean Hannity, and Lou Dobbs, and I think Tucker Carlson and Laura and Jesse Watters, and Jeanine. We have a lot of great people. Even Greg Gutfeld; he wasn’t good to me two years ago. Now he sees all I’ve done, and he said, ‘Would you rather have a great President or a nice guy?’ I don’t know, I think I’m a nice guy. But nobody has done in two and a half years what I’ve done. And I say that a lot. And very few people can challenge it,” he said.

In responding to a follow-up question, Trump said he does not accept the polls that showed him losing as accurate.

“I don’t believe it. Every place I go, we have lines outside,” Trump said, citing the crowds at a recent New Hampshire rally.

“Do I think I’m going to win? Yes. Do I think I have more enthusiasm now than I had before this — you know, the 2016 election? Yes. I think we’re — I think you people do too. And some of you have reported it,” he said.

“I think there is more enthusiasm for President Trump than there was even for Mr. Trump. Because what I said that I was going to do, I did. The tax cut, the regulation cuts — the biggest in history. In two and a half years, more than — and that’s one of the reasons our jobs are so good, because of the regulation cuts,” he said.

Fox is bullshit that’s why I switched OAN (one america news)

    • Dom Mileto says:

Me too. Fox appears to have suspended Tucker. It seems to have gone to the left.

      • Teresa says:

Fox got rid of Tucker Carlson? My gosh, I am truly shocked. But I was shocked when they let O’Reilly go, too. They aren’t the news network they started out being. They were once outstanding!

      • Pebbles says:

Tucker was on a week’s vacation, fishing with his son. He’s back on as of 8/19; the dems are trying to get him off the air, however.

    • PoconoVet says:

Ever since Disney took it over, Fox definitely went down hell. With all those liberals Fox will be another CNN soon.

  • William says:

I basically think Trump is right. Without Fox, we would not have heard about of lot of really terrible things the Democrats have done. Does anyone think we would have been made aware of Hillary’s emails? Her paying for the Russain dossier? The sale of 20% of our Uranium stockpile? The incredibly evil things some members of the FBI did? You know we wouldn’t. But I agree with Trump; Juan Williams and Donna Brazile belong on CNN or MSNBC. I certainly am not interested in anything they have to say.

    • Marc says:

You can add Shepherd Smith to that list too. When he comes on, I change the channel. I don’t mind hearing different views, but he’s just too much.

      • Kenneth Hecker says:

Yes, I tend to go to Fox Business when Shepard comes on. It doesn’t take him long to find something that the President “lied” about. And when he doesn’t say the President “lied”, he says “and that is untrue.” Now, while we are all talking about Biden’s gaffs – President Trump did make a gaff when he suggested all four of the “Squad” should go back to their failing countries. For three of them, THIS is their failing country they came from, which our President has made “Great Again.”

My wife asked the same question “Why is Donna Brazile on the Five?” I like her as a person, and she’s behaving herself, but when she set Hillary up with those debate questions… but Hillary could admit to shooting Vince Foster herself, and nobody would blink. The fix was in against Bernie (thank God). Now if they could just make sure the “squad” doesn’t run again. But I keep hoping they’ll nail Omar for several Federal crimes having to do with her entering and filing for citizenship in this country.

Yes, I voted for Donald Trump, and I think Melania Trump is “hot.” But she is also a lady, and there was nothing cheap about the way she landed Donald. I don’t care what shoes she wears to walk out to Marine 1.

        • robert says:

Actually, Trump never said that. ,I like the way the press uses the quote “go back to where they came from.” They always leave out “fix the problem there, then come back and show us how it’s done.”

          • Elizabeth McFarland says:

anything to disparage the man and his family!

          • Teresa says:

If I’m not mistaken, he did not say go back to the “country you came from”, he said “go back to where you came from”, and I took that to mean clean up your own district, then come back with positive suggestions for how we can improve things over all.
Can you clarify if I am right or wrong? Some people agree, and some disagree about what exactly was said. Thanks!

          • Pebbles says:

He said, ” the four democrats hate our country, and should leave if they are unhappy.” He later tweeted that the four democrats should “go back to the crime infested places from which they came.” 3 of them are America born and one is not, she was born in Somalia.

        • William Conley says:

He said they should go to the countries they CAME FROM as in their ancestors originated from and fix the dumpster fires that they call countries before they talk shit about the great nation that took them in. I mean they came from third world shitholes and they have the gall to say the shit they do about America.

          • Pebbles says:

        • Stephen says:

I do not believe Mr.Trump said go back your country, more like go to a country that you can make a positive change to match America. Then come back and you have earned the right to critique.

          • PoconoVet says:

Nothing about “country” was ever said in his statement about them. He told them to go back to where they came from, that was it. The media are the ones that put it in people’s minds that that is what he said. You can take some time and find it on the net.

          • Pebbles says:

I believe many would agree with you!

Shepard Smith belongs on CNN with Don Lemon they are two of a kind.

      • terry says:

Shepard Smith belongs on CNN with Don Lemon.

      • Deanna says:

I was getting ready to comment on that. So glad I’m not by myself. I watch Hallmark movies when he comes on.

      • Ann says:

I immediately change the channel! I get a sour stomach at the first sight of him!

    • chris says:

Not forgetting Judicial Watch, without them the Russian BS ” dossier ” and HiLIARy emails, would never have been discovered.

      • RK says:

true but Fox was the only one reporting it to the public.
i use to watch all the other US news channels as well as Fox.
now Fox is becoming just like all the LSM since Disney took it over

  • Stephen Russell says:

Hey FNC Fix your polls, redo the math, remedy this, Its bogus

    • Phil Osborne says:

I have no problem with the polls being what they are. I have no problem with dems feeling they have this in the bag and the race is over before it even begins…I love watching them wallow in sorrow when things don’t turn out the way they expect….The Trump base are working stiffs, and most often both husband and wife are working. Unless they conduct these polls at night, after dinner, most of us ignore them…

  • Evangeline says:

Fox def seems to be playing both sides lately.

    • Phil Osborne says:

Personally, I think they have played both sides for many years. They have always had guests who present opposite views. I have watched them from the beginning and do not recall them not having a “fair and balanced” agenda…

      • Greyguy says:

But hiring and bringing on a known liar and unethical cheat to your stable of commentators in not being fair and balanced, it is being ethically challenged.

  • Judy Stinger says:

President Trump is right. Fox has not hesitated to censor and suspend any one of their commentators for comments that they’ve made that Fox found offensive. However, Juan Williams who is known for his abhorrent, vile comments and statements has never been censored as he should be. He blatantly attacks everyone he pleases and says whatever he chooses to say again without censorship of any kind from Fox. They clearly give him carte blanche to say whatever he chooses to say which means Fox is absolutely supporting and agreeing with him. Williams lies through his teeth and continually quotes polls and surveys but when people ask him for proof he never has it. Bill O’Reilly saved Williams’ career after he was fired from another network and that’s how Williams got on Fox. Interesting that when O’Reilly was going through all his problems Williams never once offered him any support nor did he ever defend him. Williams is a snake. It was a surprise for many viewers when Fox hired disgraced Donna Brazile a Democrat who is a far left zealot. One has to really be at the bottom of the barrel for CNN to fire them and that’s just what happened to Brazile when she gave debate questions to Hillary Clinton in advance of the debate. Fox is changing and it’s not good.

  • Leroy Johnston says:

Election Night in 2016 Hillary was Favored in the Polls 97.7% to Trumps 2.3% Or close to those numbers, But You See How that worked out LOL. I agree FOX has Changed, I now Change the Channel, a Couple of times a Day. Because I Refuse to be Force Fed P.C. Garbage, And listen to a Drama Queen, Like Shepherd Smith. Since The Sons took over the Station, They are turning away the Base. And I can only speak for Myself, But I still Haven’t watched a Baseball Game, since 1994, after their Strike Pissed Me Off. and although I was a Packers Fan since the First Super Bowl Win I Watched with My Father I will Never watch the NFL again Since it Died of Colin Cancer. My Hero’s Wear Dog Tags !!

  • CharlieSeattle says:

    The Ruppert Murdoch effect!

  • Dom Mileto says:

Started watching One America Network (OAN). Real conservative news.

  • Me says:

Look no more. this never Trump slimebag is no doubt the one that oversees the polls along with a lot of the negative stuff on Trump. Chris Stirewalt
    Fox News digital politics editor
Chris Stirewalt joined Fox News Channel (FNC) in July of 2010 and serves as politics editor based in Washington, D.C.

  • Richard says:

I was initially lukewarm toward Candidate Trump. Now I enthusiastically support Pres. Trump for re-election, especially against any in the Dem field.

  • Mcdonald says:

I never watched FOX that much. Why are they doing polls already. Didn’t they learn their lesson in 2016. I am sure like many others including me lie on those polls. There is no way I would ever tell who I was voting for.

  • William Conley says:

Fox better understand it’s viewer base is republican and that’s why they didn’t hemmorage viewers like CNN and other networks did, but they sure as hell will now.

    • Lavon says:

You just said a mouthful, William! The original Fox base was Conservatives and Republicans. They had a terrific thing going that bar none – now they want to CHANGE IT?

  • Doris says:

PEOPLE, PEOPLE…….DISNEY BOUGHT THEM….WHAT DO YOU EXPECT! I saw a change right away, and when they suspended the Judge and she came back, she is even luke warm. I don’t know why she even went back after what they did. They have too many Democrat points of view, and I think people get enough of that from the “main stream”. I watch, TUCKER (he’s still there) and
Laura Ingram and this go to the Internet for the rest. Hannity
is alright, but I get tired of listening to him talk and repeat himself. He asks questions and then answers them. Nobody talks but him. That has always been the case. Weekends I watch Jesse Waters and Mark Levin. The rest is garbage.

  • Madeleine says:

I believe Murdoch’s 2 sons have very liberal wives who were (or still are ) Hillary supporters. Old man Murdoch gets on well with Potus, but its the younger ones who are liberals. Very sad but just remember our God is a God of “Against all odds” and through our faith and prayers, goodness shall succeed. The poll is an outright lie by the way, Biden could house a meeting in a kitchen! Bernie has some snowflakes supporting him with his “free everything and release students from debt” rant , but the others are all con artists with big promises and no substance. Actually all of them are the same.

  • Alice Kiley says:

I am a FOX watcher and I have noticed a slight move to the left in the last few months. I think it is the younger son’s of the owner who is moving this along no. They want to appeal to their peers who have no interest in democracy only interested in what they can get for free and do nothing but what they want to do . I think breaks my 76 year old heart to see my country die and Socialism taking over and seeing that the younger generation only cares about themselves and their electronics.

  • David SALERNO says:

I agree with the President. When they brought in Donna Brazille i KNEW something was up and for me, that was the beginning of the end. I have heard there are many very virulent anti Trumpers in control at Fox now. I stopped watching them months ago.

  • Joy says:

I’m a fan of Fox for many years. I have NO idea why donna is there. Not happy about that lier, cheater myself. Juan I don’t care for but I see why he’s on for opposing views. Wish they’d pick someone else. The polls I’ve never seen one to vote on & everyone I ask who watches fox haven’t gotten any polls to take either. So I agree with Pres-Trump the polls aren’t accurate when so many Fox viewers haven’t gotten them to take. I watch all he the people Pres-Trump listed plus fox&friends. Can’t stay Sheppard Smith he obviously hates Pres-Trump. We turn the channel whenever he’s on to OANN. Fully support Pres-Trump OANN is fair and balanced Fox is my 1st but OANN is a strong 2nd.

  • Marilynn Reeves says:

With the rest of the outlets being Democrat Fox would be wish to be strictly Republican.

  • terry says:

Fox is being run by the younger generation liberals since the older conservatives have retired there’s your problem.

  • george peters says:

i see the political insider site is now censoring free speech there. made 3 comments, and none were let printed. oh well, their loss.

  • Gerald O’Dell says:

I’ve been a loyal Fox supporter for many years now but am switching to OAN NEWS. The travesty which FOX is turning into makes me sick. Won’t be long before they force out Hannity, Tucker, Ingram. Really a sad day approaching for Fox to lose it’s # 1 rating. They can count me out!

  • Jerrold says:

Get your news from QAnon.. WWG1WGA…. TRUMP 2020!! (Plan to Save The World)

  • mike D says:

Fox strategy might be to downplay support for Trump now (hoping to increase viewership) since Trumps’ latest nutty rants–waiting until closer to the election, when they can justify giving their full support.

  • Cheryl Detar says:

Many of us have been noticing the “Fox Change,” for a while, now.
