US Embassy in Afghanistan Attacked on 9/11 Anniversary

Minutes after midnight on Wednesday, a rocket blast shook the United States Embassy in Afghanistan.

The attack, which fell on the eighteenth anniversary of the tragic 9/11 terrorist attacks on the U.S., sent a sizable plume of smoke into the air over the Afghan capital of Kabul, The Associated Press reported.

The outlet reported that loud sirens could be heard from the scene and embassy employees were briefed on the attack via loudspeaker announcement which said, “An explosion caused by a rocket has occurred on compound.”

Within an hour it was determined that there were no casualties from the explosion and an all-clear was given.

The AP also indicated this was the first major attack in the city since President Donald Trump called off peace talks with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and Taliban leaders at Camp David.

Trump officially called off those secret peace talks Saturday in a tweet, NPR reported, saying the death of a U.S. serviceman in Taliban-orchestrated car bombings that killed 12 in Kabul last week, pushed him away from the negotiating table.

“[T]he major Taliban leaders were going to secretly meet with me at Camp David on Sunday,” Trump wrote.

“They were coming to the United States tonight. Unfortunately, in order to build false leverage, they admitted to.. an attack in Kabul that killed one of our great great soldiers, and 11 other people,” he added. “I immediately cancelled the meeting and called off peace negotiations.

“What kind of people would kill so many in order to seemingly strengthen their bargaining position?”

According to analysts both within the State Department and the media, some manner of violent response was expected in light of this breakdown in peaceful negotiation.

Trump has been attempting for some time to pull U.S. troops out of Afghanistan and end America’s longest-running military conflict.

This week’s Sept. 11 anniversary also increased cause for concern, as attacks by Islamic terrorists have been known to be carried out against the U.S. and its interests on the date — often in celebration of the largest act of Islamic extremism in world history.

One such attack was carried out on Sept. 11, 2012, when Islamic militant group Ansar al-Sharia attacked a U.S. Consulate and a CIA annex in Benghazi, Libya, killing three American servicemen and an ambassador.

This is a developing story. The Western Journal will update this report if and when new information is released.

I can only say one thing at this time. If we allow the Taliban to take control of Afghanistan, we will be condemning the women of that country to what they lived through for many years. If a man was tired of his wife, he could make a false accusation, and she would be taken out to the soccer field, and a bullet put in her head. We helped force the Russians out of Afghanistan, and we cannot walk away this time because the Taliban are not nice to us, or we’re tired of the fight.

    • Evangeline says:

It’s a never ending war. That’s how these women have lived for 1,000’s of yrs. It’s sad but we can’t change their culture even if we defeat the Taliban for them. It is their culture. Did we learn nothing from trying to liberate Iraq with western freedom?

      • Sherry says:

Evangeline, it is because this is a spiritual war. These people are bound up by spiritual demons and are completely blinded. They need prayer from God’s prayer warriors so that their spiritual eyes can be opened and they can escape this prison. Nothing else will do.

    • Cindy says:

Nothing has changed for those women in all the years we’ve been there, and it won’t no matter how long we stay. One, because they will not stop practicing and submitting to that satanic cult, and two, we have let them come over here and do the same damn thing. They are a lost cause, by their own choosing.

Benjamin Franklin was The United States of America’s first international ambassador and he had said in the late 1700’s/early 1800’s that the United States of America will never be able to reason with the unreasonable, regarding the Caliphate…OR any other form of islamic gov’t…because they have no desire to reason with non-muslims.

Same thing goes with these extremists of the present day muslim ideology.

    My saying:
“Those who aren’t able to think beyond caveman mentality will never reason beyond that mentality.”

    Goes for any self-centered ideology.

    Negotiate…with less than animals? Really.

  • Marilyn says:

These terrorists are the work of the devil. We Christians need to pray that God will take care of their evil deeds.

    • Sherry says:

My thoughts exactly! For it is not against flesh and blood that we war…this is a spiritual war and that it why it has and will go on until the end of this sinful earth.

Here’s the only offer we should be giving them do you want to die with honor and get to go your precious Allah with dignity or do we defile you before we kill you damning you for eternity according to your holy book.

I lived in a Muslim country for two-years. You cannot reason with them as they will smile as if in agreement and stab you in the back while stealing you blind. They live pretty much the same way they did two-thousand-years-ago!

This all goes back to the Old Testament story of Abraham. The word of the LORD came to him, saying (regarding a male who had been born in his house), “This one shall not be your heir, but one who will come from your own body shall be your heir.” Later his wife Sarai (as she was known at the time), gave to Abram (as he was known at the time) her handmaid (the Egyptian named Hagar) as a wife so he could have children, and the birth of Ishmael. When Hagar conceived, Sarai saw that she was despised by Hagar, and sent her away. The angel of the LORD said to Hagar (of Ishmael), “He shall be a wild man; His hand shall be against every man, and every man’s hand against him. And he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren.” Who does that sound like? Whose hand has been against every man, especially since the 600s?

This story continues when his name was changed to Abraham, and her name to Sarah. Sarah then gave birth to a child that they named Isaac. God told Abraham, “And as for Ishmael, I have heard you. Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly. He shall beget twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation. But My covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this set time next year.”

THAT is enough evidence that the land promised to Abraham’s heir is to the Israelite nation, and the others have no right to claim it or any blessing.

Who else knew this would happen on the 9/11 anniversary?
    2 things…
    1. I’m not surprised, and
    2. WHY THE HELL DO WE EVEN HAVE an American embassy there?

Maybe we shouldnt put embassies in countries that either hate us, or a country has ties to terrorism?

    Duh???

keep allowing muslims into our country, and we will have blood on American soil before too long, its a GIVEN, they kill wherever they are

    • Dolores Herrmann says:

The blood of over 3000 of our countrymen/women was shed on 9/11/01 and that should have ended any Muslim immigration into this country. But the former POTUS …..

  • VietnamVeteran says:

When America achieved independence from Britain and became a sovereign nation in 1784, the muslim Barbary pirates of North Africa demanded tribute from America or our merchant ships would be attacked and the sailors would be held for ransom. And they were, thus America paid millions in tribute and ransom for many years, until Thomas Jefferson became President in 1801. When he first became President, he set out to build a strong Navy. When he was ready, he told the muslim Sultans of North Africa, who continued to demand tribute, that he would NOT comply with their demands. To make a long story short, Jefferson sent the U.S. Navy to settle accounts with the muslim pirates. In essence, the Navy sunk the pirate fleet and blasted the living hell out of Tripoli, wherein the muslim Sultan caved in. Here’s the story:

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Barbary_War

Every American Navy and Marine veteran knows this story, which is taught in Navy bootcamp. In essence, President Jefferson told the pirates to go to hell and sent the Navy to give them hell. Needless to say, Thomas Jefferson is one of my favorite presidents because he knew how to deal with the muslim @$$h**es.

And that’s how you deal with muslim pirates.
