“The court in Heller itself, the Supreme Court, struck down a D.C. ban on handguns. Now, most handguns are semi-automatic. That’s something that not everyone appreciates,” Kavanaugh told Sen. Feinstein (D-Calif.) at one point.
White House press secretary Sarah Sanders broke her silence on Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearings on Wednesday morning, calling Democrats’ behavior an “embarrassment” to their party.
“I thought it was an embarrassment for the Democrat Party, but frankly, not surprising at all,” Sanders said. “Unfortunately, we know they have been trying to use these ridiculous delay tactics. They’ve been opposing Kavanaugh before he was even nominated.”
Sanders pointed out that Democrats made it clear they wouldn’t support President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court pick no matter who it was.
“What we saw yesterday was really an embarrassment by the Democrats,” she added. “But frankly, I also think it’s great news for Republicans, because if this is what we’re up against in 2018, and particularly the auditions we saw for the 2020 presidential race that took place yesterday, I think we’re in great shape.”
It’s hard to argue against that.
Sanders fully backed Kavanaugh, calling him “unquestionably qualified” to serve on the Supreme Court.
