WATCH: Sarah Sanders Has Enough, Scorches Dems for ‘Embarrassment’ at Kavanaugh Hearing

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders broke her silence on Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearings on Wednesday morning, calling Democrats’ behavior an “embarrassment” to their party.

“I thought it was an embarrassment for the Democrat Party, but frankly, not surprising at all,” Sanders said. “Unfortunately, we know they have been trying to use these ridiculous delay tactics. They’ve been opposing Kavanaugh before he was even nominated.”

Sanders pointed out that Democrats made it clear they wouldn’t support President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court pick no matter who it was.

“What we saw yesterday was really an embarrassment by the Democrats,” she added. “But frankly, I also think it’s great news for Republicans, because if this is what we’re up against in 2018, and particularly the auditions we saw for the 2020 presidential race that took place yesterday, I think we’re in great shape.”

It’s hard to argue against that.

Sanders fully backed Kavanaugh, calling him “unquestionably qualified” to serve on the Supreme Court.

Judge Kavanaugh was grilled by Democrats during the second day of his confirmation hearings on Wednesday, touching on issues like guns, abortion, and President Trump.

Watch one of the exchanges below:

“The court in Heller itself, the Supreme Court, struck down a D.C. ban on handguns. Now, most handguns are semi-automatic. That’s something that not everyone appreciates,” Kavanaugh told Sen. Feinstein (D-Calif.) at one point.

It’s mind boggling the depths of ignorance and arrogance these Democrats will sink to. They are not looking for a fair and impartial jurist, they are looking for someone to rewrite the Constitution to suit their agenda, and they know full well that Kavanaugh is not that man. They are almost hysterical at the thought of him being approved, and their behavior at the very beginning of the hearings proves very well that they have no pride in, and no respect and concern for the offices they hold. I think it’s time that all those who interrupted and refused to follow the protocol of this (or any other) hearing should be charged with Contempt Of Congress. Congress has the authority to hold a person in contempt if the person’s conduct or action obstructs the proceedings of Congress or, more usually, an inquiry by a committee of Congress. Rep. McDowell (R., Pa.), a member of the Un-American Activities Committee, introduced a bill, Feb. 27, which would increase maximum penalties for contempt of Congress from one year’s imprisonment and $1,000 fine to five years’ imprisonment and $5,000 fine, and make contempt a felony instead of a misdemeanor. I think it is time we started holding people accountable for their actions, particularly our lawmakers, and everyone should write to their Congressman in support of this bill, and ask that it be brought to the floor for a vote as soon as possible.
