WATCH: Trump Turns Question Around On Reporter Who Can’t Answer It

President Donald Trump turned a question around on a “one-sided” reporter on Wednesday in the Oval Office, which left the reporter fumbling for words and unable to answer the question.

ABC News White House correspondent Jonathan Karl pressed Trump about signing bills so government workers who are being furloughed could be paid.

“So, so, why not sign the other bills though, so some of these workers could get paid?” Karl asked.

“Do you think I should do that?” Trump fired back.

“Y-you –” Karl sputtered.

“No, do you think I should do that, Jon?” Trump pressed.

“I mean, it’s not for me to say,” Karl responded.

“I mean, I watch your one-sided reporting,” Trump continued. “Do you think I should do that? Hey Jon, no, seriously, Jon: Do you think I should just sign?”

“Well, the, the argument –” Karl said, as he continued to fumble through his response.

“Tell me, tell me,” Trump pressed.

“It has nothing to do with border security,” Karl said.

“Jon, do you think I should just sign?” Trump continued to press.

“I-I-I’m saying that if you sign that, these workers can start getting paid, the government can start –” Karl continued.

“So you would do that if you were in my position?” Trump asked. “You’d do that?”

“I’m not in your position, I’m asking you if –” Karl said, refusing to answer the question.

“I’m asking you: Would you do that if you were in my position?” Trump said. “Because if you would do that, you should never be in this position. Because you’d never get anything done.”

Not paying people will backfire. People should still get paid reguardless of politics. This will bite him in the ass if he doesn’t make sure people that voted for him get paid

I don’t think so Hillbilly. The President should tell them there are many good jobs out there and they should be looking for those jobs instead of waiting.
Remember people have been laid off for months on end and they planned for those events. Those were at real jobs. I know because I have been there and somehow we always made it. If you are old enough to remember the Boeing lay offs, many people at that time became very innovative and started businesses of their own. Though I realize that most people working for the Government are not capable to do that and are just biding their time to retirement. Not only that, they will be paid and had just gotten paid. So if they cannot make it for a couple of weeks they have more problems than the shut down. Have you ever heard of being prepared to have at least 6 months worth of savings for emergencies such as this?
